In celebrating August Child Support Month, the Licking County Child Support Enforcement Agency will be piloting a negotiated debt forgiveness program for those who owe back child support. There are two ways you can owe back child support: to the State of Ohio for receiving public assistance benefits; or to residential parent/oblige (one who receives child support).

First and foremost – this 31 day pilot program is a collection program. You must be able to give something of value (money or time) in order to begin the negotiation process. There are several ways this may be accomplished including:

- Lump sum payment
- Payment over time
- Community service
|

If you owe back child support to the other party (oblige/non-residential parent), there are options to consider when negotiating a reduced amount of back child support. However, first and foremost, it must be voluntarily agreed to by both parties and in person in order to proceed.

For more information – please see the attached brochures or stop in to the CSEA for a one-on-one consultation for more information. There are only 31 days in August to make a difference…
