Tax Map Department
It is the responsibility of the County Engineer to maintain current property ownership maps of all the property within the county to assist the County Auditor in the making a proper appraisal for the purpose of maintaining an accurate tax base.
To establish the county's mapping system, all information from various public offices must be utilized: recorded deeds, subdivision plats, street dedications, vacations, annexations, road records, etc.
 
 
 
Responsibilities
  • Approve legal descriptions prepared for the purpose of transferring property.
  • Update appropriate tax maps for each property transfer.
 
Other Services Provided
  • Assist the public with locating property and verifying ownership.
  • Print copies of all requested available maps and plats.
  • Assignment of all new addresses in all unincorporated areas.
