2017 Sr. Levy Funding

Press Release: Senior Citizens Levy Advisory Board Sets Hearing Dates for 2017 Allocation of Funds for Senior Citizen Services.

Newark, Ohio - November 9, 2016: The Licking County Senior Citizens Levy Advisory Review Board has outlined its plans for the 2017 allocation of funds for Senior Citizens Services in the County.

The Board formulated a statement of purpose which will be the guide to its operations: “The purpose of the Senior Citizens Levy Advisory Review Board is to allocate, on a nonpartisan, non-discriminatory basis, funds for use by Licking County domiciled/based non-profit organizations/agencies for programs directly and solely serving the County’s senior citizens”.

The Board will consider applications for funding for the year 2017.  Funded services include such needs as providing home health care, transportation, nutrition and other supportive services for senior citizens 60 years of age and older.

The Licking County Commissioners Office, Pam Jones, Deputy Clerk, 20 South Second Street, Newark, Ohio 43055 by January 18, 2017 at 4:00 pm.

Before January 6, 2017, applicants must call 740-670-5114 and schedule a hearing date & time for the organization/agency to meet with the Sr. Levy Advisory Board.

Hearings will be held Thursday, January 26, 2017 between 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm, and Friday, January 27, 2016 between the hours of 1:00 pm and 4:30 pm on the 4th floor meeting Room “D” of the Donald D. Hill County Administration Building, 20 South Second Street, Newark, Ohio.

The Licking County Senior Citizens Advisory Board will review said requests of service providers and make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners for final approval.
