Licking County Honor Guard - Mission Statement

Our Honor Guard Unit consists of eleven members chosen from various divisions within the Sheriff's Office. In many of the same ways as their military counterparts, members of this elite unit are interviewed and selected to become part of the team. Each individual is evaluated for their professionalism, attitude, physical fitness, personal bearing, appearance and ability to perform precision movements as part of a coordinated command.

The Honor Guard provides a variety of duties such as parade detail, posting of the colors at civic and sporting events, all types of Memorial Services on various Holidays, Flag detail, Rifle squad detail, Pall bearers, Escorts and other ceremonial events that may arise. Each member is familiar with all positions and or assignments within the unit so that he or she can substitute should the need arise. The Honor Guard represents pride, respect, leadership, and "esprit de corps" of the Sheriff's Office
