Beginning in early 2006, the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCI&I) requires that all requests for Ohio civilian background checks be submitted electronically through the use of WebCheck. BCI will no longer accept fingerprints on hard cards from civilians or employers. All fingerprints for the purpose of background checks must be done over the WebCheck system; therefore, the Sheriff's Office will no longer provide prints in hard card format. Civilian Prints will be available on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons between the hours of 12:00 Noon to 3:45 PM. No appointment is necessary.
The costs associated with the digital cards are as follows:
All costs are payable by cash only, no personal checks or credit cards will be accepted.
All applicants will be required to present photo identification (Drivers license, State ID Card, etc.)
Results of the check will be sent to the applicant or their employer within 10-14 business days according to BCI.
