Position Description:

The successful candidate will:
? promote, schedule and present education programs to diverse audiences including schools PK-12, youth groups, families, and adults;
? organize, facilitate and evaluate teacher/educator workshops;
? maintain outdoor learning spaces/demonstration gardens;
? train volunteers to present education programs to diverse audiences and maintain outdoor learning spaces;
? write articles for newsletters and press releases;
? provide content for website and social media;
? oversee education equipment and supplies, including educational rental items;
? maintain educator contact list/school directory; and
? partner with other agencies for workshops, initiatives and events.

Brief Description:

Job Prerequisites:

? experience facilitating inquiry-based, experiential learning
? experience working with children and adults
? excellent written and verbal communication skills
? foundational knowledge in natural resource management, especially related to soil science, water quality, stormwater and low impact development, and agriculture and farming practices
? ability to identify and implement projects and management needs in outdoor learning spaces including native and invasive plant identification skills
? certification (or ability to earn certification) as a Facilitator in some or all of the following: Project WET, Healthy Water/Healthy People, Project WILD, Project Aquatic WILD, Project Learning Tree, Getting Little Feet WET, Growing Up WILD, and Environmental Experiences for Early Childhood
? experience performing (or ability to learn) water quality sampling and credible data collecting
? familiarity with age-appropriate education content
? ability to work a flexible schedule that includes evening and weekend events
? computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and Google platform
? ability to lift 30 pounds, and load and unload program equipment and supplies
? minimum of an Associate degree (A.S. or A.A.) in a related field
? proof of valid Ohio driver’s license and remain insurable
? ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and Federal background security check.
