Notice to Contractors

Sealed proposals for the Buckeye Lake Multi-Use Path/Access-REBID will be received by the Licking County Commissioners at their office, 20 South Second Street, Newark, Ohio, 43055 until Thursday, August 31, 2017 at 11:30 a.m., and at said office opened and read loud. A Pre-Bid meeting will be held onsite on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. at 4771 North Bank Road, Buckeye Lake, Ohio 43008.

Plans, specifications and bid forms may be secured at the office of the Licking County Planning and Development Department, 20 South Second Street, First Floor, Newark, Ohio 43055, for a pre-paid, non-refundable fee of ten dollars ($10.00) for each bid packet. Bid packets must be obtained no later than 4:30 p.m. three business days prior to the bid opening.

Each bid must be accompanied by either a bid bond in the amount of 100 percent (100%) of the Base Bid amount with a surety satisfactory to the aforesaid Licking County Commissioners, or by certified check, cashier's check, or letter of credit upon a solvent bank in the amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid amount in favor of the aforesaid Licking County Commissioners. Bid Bonds shall be accompanied by Proof of Authority of the official or agent signing the bond.

Portions of the work shall be governed by the supplemental specifications in the contract documents.

Work to be provided under the contract shall include the furnishing of all labor and materials for the Buckeye Lake Multi-Use Path/Access-REBID. Bids shall be sealed in an envelope and marked appropriately as the Buckeye Lake Multi-Use Path/Access-REBID and mailed or delivered to:

Attention of bidders is called to all of the requirements contained in the bid packet, particularly to the Federal Labor Standards Provisions and Davis-Bacon wages, various insurance requirements, various equal opportunity provisions, and the requirement for a payment bond and performance bond for 100 percent (100%) of the contract price.

Each proposal must contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the proposal and all persons interested therein. Each bidder must submit evidence of its experiences on projects of similar size and complexity.

All work under the contract must be substantially complete within 60 days and final completion within 90 days from the date of commencement.    

No bidder may withdraw his bid within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The Licking County Commissioners reserve the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids.
